 Travel Sketches II
Travel is a life-long pursuit, traveling to new places and experiences feeds the artistic soul, opening my eyes to new colors,  lights and moods.   The first sketches are part of a collection called 'Golden Summer', a result of a summer of weekends  camping in the 'golden hills' of Northern California, roughing it in the 'wild'.    The Krabi, Thailand sketches were part of an extensive Asian tour that included Hong Kong and mainland China.
Travel Sketches I
The recording of a trip is a very personal expression, revealing the mood of the place as well as the artist.   Many destinations naturally with the beauty of the location or special situations create a motivation for me to express my reaction and response to the setting.    Sketches shown include travels to Clearlake in Northern California, and a cruise on the 'Inland Passage' from Seattle to Juneau Alaska.

"With a gestural spontaneity  in my work, I feel I have arrived at a personal and distinctive style invoking a sense of delight, freshness and discovery."
